Wall Products - Slabs
NIC’s AAC Plant was established in 1983 and development in manufacturing unit started during 2000 and got the efficiency to produce Reinforced Slabs and Panels of different shapes and dimensions, which can replace the reinforced ready mix on site and can be used for roofs of buildings of AAC blocks, Cement blocks or Lime Bricks. It has the potential to produce panels as per requirements.
Slab Production Technology
Slabs are produced in automatic production line, consisting of AAC mix treated reinforced steel as per international standards. The manufacturing process is as follows:
Preparing two steel nets in Reinforced unit.
Treatment of steel.
Immerse steel net into the fresh AAC mix.
Cutting slabs as per required dimensions.
Steam curing slabs for minimum 14 hours.
Quality check stamp.
Transfer slabs to stores yard.
Function of Slabs
Covers complete roof ceiling under all conditions.
Can be used for flooring.
Installation of Slabs
Can be lift by special crane.
Install Slab on beam or panel with a support distance not less than 10 cm from both edges.
If length of slab is more than 580 cm support beam of concrete or steel should be installed.

Conditions of Installing Slabs
Do not use rejected slabs.
Side supports should be equal on both edges.
Fill the joints of slabs with enough mortar.
Make level and make sure the upper surface is horizontal.
Don’t cut NIC slabs without official permission.
External Slabs must be protected from rain by using NIC roof coating.

Advantages of NIC Slabs
| 1 |
Ready to fix, light weight and high load bearing. |
Mix on site, heavy, high load bearing. |
| 2 |
Easy to lift & install and can be fix within 5 minutes only as follows:
- shifting slab to site
- Add mortar to supporting place of slabs.
- Fix slabs and level them .
|
Stages of preparing:
- Fixing mould and fixing steel.
- Put ready mix with regular watering.
- Wait for complete setting and remove
mould shetaring.

| 3 |
Construction work can immediately start on it without stoppage. |
Cannot construct on it immediately, should wait for 1 week minimum.
|
| 4 |
Heat Insulator & fire resistance. |
Not insulated & effected by fire.
|
| 5 |
Reinforced steel is treated by special paint & material to protect it from rust and corrosion and extreme weather conditions. |
Often steel is untreated and exposed to air, which results in rust & corrosion which leads to damage after some time.
|
| 6 |
No hair cracks. |
Hair cracks appear.
|
| 7 |
Save time and economical. |
Delay of construction time and high costing.
|
Testing of Slabs
Compressive Strength tests are preformed in AAC Laboratory and can be tested regularly in the main laboratory according to DIN-4223 and are approved as follows:
Ability of load bearing capacity.
Maintain deflection limits.
Maximum testing load is two time of load bearing.
Physical Properties of Slabs
Density 500 to 700 kg/M3.
Compressive Strength 35 to 50 kg/M².
