1.Insulation:

As well as being an excellent building block, Al Abyad works as a superb insulator, meeting all Ministry of Electricity & Water specifications.Insulation is essential to reduce cooling or heating costs and help to extend the life of air conditioning equipment. There is no need for any other insulation material.

2.High Bearing Capacity:

Al Abyad is an extremely strong material which meets all engineering requirements. NIC guarantees an optimum compression strength of Al Abyad through continuous monitoring and quality control.

3.Light Weight:

Al Abyad is light in weight with a density of only 480 kg per cu m. Al Abyad is easy to lift and much easier to install than the conventional building block. The light weight of Al Abyad helps to reduce the need for other materials normally used in building construction. This not only reduces building costs, but also cuts down on the area required for building and on construction time. NIC manufactures Al Abyad in various densities, weights, sizes and shapes, according to customer specifications.

4.Fire Resistance:

Al Abyad is made from fire resistant materials. Even When placed against a direct flame no toxic fumes are released. In the case of fire, an Al Abyad wall of 100m mm thickness can keep fire out of other sections of the building for up to four hours. Its high insulation factor localizes heat to the fire area, preventing heat damage to other parts of the building.

5.Low Absorbency of Moisture:

Al Abyad's unique composition features small air holes, formed within the block by the aeration process.These air holes of various sizes reduce the block's capacity to absorb moisture. The percentage of absorption of Al Abyad is therefore very low compared to alternative building materials. Al Abyad is manufactured from non-biodegradable materials which do not rot or attract mould, keeping interiors clean and durable.

6.Economical Easy and Quick to Install:

Building with Al Abyad is faster than with conventional building procedures. One Al Abyad block of 60x20x20 cms covers the same area as three conventional cement blocks of 40x20x1 Ocms. With Al Abyad many additional materials, such as extra mortar and installation materials, are not required. 7.Expansion and Contraction:

Al Abyad has minimal expansion/contraction variance and will contract by only 0.3mm for every running metre under normal conditions.

8.Easy to Cut and Form:

Al Abyad's Special properties of lightness and consistency in mixture make it easy to cut accurately with a simple saw without damaging the blocks. All required conducting for electricity and plumbing purposes can be easily achieved to exact specifications using simple tools available from NIC or on the open market.

9.Accuracy in Dimensions:

Al Abyad is manufactured to exact dimensions, making leveling an easy task right from the beginning. The constant use of spirit levels is unnecessary .

Al Abyad Blocks for Internal Walls:

NIC also produces Al Abyad for internal walls, with the same characteristics as previously mentioned. This light weight block reduces loads on building and therefore offers additional cost savings. It is economical, fire-resistant, and easy to work with (see table below).
